FABRICS FROM FARAWAY PLACES

THE NATURAL INTERIOR and MALABAR have been promoting great design in fabrics in Ireland for almost 20 years. That is set to continue with the latest designs. MALABAR provides colourful inspiration for 2008.

ZARI

Malabar evokes the opulent splendour of maharajas’ palaces with this stunning collection of finely woven silk designs of simple orbs and stripes and complicated filigree patterns in rich jewel-like colours adorned with gold brocade.

TAO

We take the Silk Route to China with two fabulous chinoiserie-style floral embroideries, played out on silk or linen grounds, in an exotic mix of colours to create a formal look for full-length curtains.

CHANTILLY

Two pretty floral designs embroidered and appliquéd on a choice of linen or cotton voile. Chantilly is perfect for creating dreamy style bedrooms, with soft linen curtains and co-ordinated crisp cotton voiles for canopies and cushions.

MELROSE

From bothy to hunting lodge, country cottage to manor house, Malabar brings you the essential yarn-dyed cotton tartan. Melrose, a wide plaid, and its sister Kelso, a smaller plaid, are both available in 18 colours ranging from a traditional Scottish blue to a more contemporary lime green and plum combo.

OSKA

This pretty cotton gingham check replaces our favourite Ziro, now discontinued. On a slightly larger scale and with a fabulous choice of 25 colours from bright and bold to soft muted hues, we know you are going to love it!

MANDARA

Two silk floral embroideries, Mandara and a co-ordinating silk stripe, Maylee. Combine them for a truly luxurious effect, or enjoy them separately - perfect for curtains, blinds, cushions and bedspreads. Eight ravishing colourways from bold and beautiful to soft and feminine, Japanese or English Garden it’s all here in this magnificent collection.

GRANDE INDIENNE

A ravishing botanical embroidery with a full-blown striped rose motif scattered across a light-weight silk ground in 11 stunning colourways, from soft duck egg blue and buttercup yellow, to raspberry ripple and dark chocolate.

TIVOLI

A funky collection of cut velvets, designed with upholstery in mind. Available in 4 designs, Pompon, Veneta, Orleans, and Tivoli and accompanied by a plain velvet, Verona. For an interior less ordinary!

MOKA

(The Good, The Bad and the Moka!), A collection of refined handloom cotton stripes for cool summer living, made up of 7 designs including a herringbone stripe, a cut-thread design using jute, a narrow stripe and a wide stripe, in turquoise, terracotta, blue and naturals. Spaghetti Western meets urban chic!

TAISHAN

It’s true - there really is an eco-friendly velvet. Woven in 56% cotton and 44% bamboo and available in 35 glorious colours, its texture is light and supple yet it’s strong enough for upholstery fabric.
